主要从事有害生物可持续综合防控研究。四川省学术和技术带头人后备人选,四川省海外高层次留学人才,四川省杰出青年科技人才。先后主持和参加973计划,国家863计划,国家重大转基因专项,国家自然基金,国际科技合作项目(日本、孟加拉、伊朗)和重点研发等部省级课题20余项。在国内外重要刊物上发表SCI论文80余篇,国家授权发明专利30余件,国家著作权1项,编写病虫害防治教材1部,审定水稻新品种8个,获省级科技成果鉴定2项。相关科研成果发表在Nature Communications,Plant Biotechnology Journal,BMC Biology,Genomics等杂志。

教学及学生科研项目指导工作:

承担作物保护学,植物病理学前沿,现代植物病理学和现代昆虫学等课程。已指导毕业研究生39名,指导在读硕士研究生8名,博士研究生7名,巴基斯坦,加纳,尼泊尔和伊朗外籍留学生4名。指导在读本科毕业论文学生3名,科研兴趣小组学生6名。招收作物保护学,分子生物学方向的研究生。
